Springfield Armory is severing ties with Dick’s Sporting Goods and its subsidiary, Field & Stream, in response to their hiring a group for anti-Second Amendment lobbying. This latest action follows Dick’s Sporting Goods’ decision to remove and destroy all modern sporting rifles (MSR) from their inventory. In addition, they have denied Second Amendment rights to Americans under the age of 21. We at Springfield Armory believe that all law abiding American citizens of adult age are guaranteed this sacred right under our Constitution. It is clear where Dick’s Sporting Goods and its subsidiary, Field & Stream, stand on the Second Amendment, and we want to be clear about our message in response. Their position runs counter to what we stand for as a company. At Springfield Armory, we believe in the right and principles fought for and secured by American patriots and our founding forefathers, without question. We will not accept Dick’s Sporting Goods’ continued attempts to deny Second Amendment freedoms to our fellow Americans.

  1. Thank you Springfield. I will always be a faithful follower of Springfield and a satisfied customer.

  2. Not shopping Dick’s again. This anti-American activities is very wrong. Hope more companies sever ties with them.

  3. You have to make a stand I would rather loose some options on places to purchase items any day versus them getting away with this BS
Also cheers to hornady ammunition for discontinuing all sales to NY govt agencies if everyone stepped up we would have a real voice here in NY

  4. Dicks is turning into an other Sports Authority. Shoes and clothes and politically correct none contact sporting goods

  5. Disagree. They have a right to decide what they want to sell or not to sell just as gun manufacturers have a right to decide who to supply or not to supply. They have not denied anyone any rights. The business will simply go to someone else.

It is as absurd as claiming McDonalds is guilty of disarming Americans because they also don’t sell these weapons.

I have no objection to the guns personally and I am more pro-2nd than 90% of the people in this country but this claim merely makes the rest of us look foolish by association. ignorant fools.l

  6. I remember buying long guns at the age of 18 many years ago. It was always a joy to go to the range and make a day of it and shoot. This was when ammunition did not cost an arm and a leg.
The younger generation has changed how they have grown up and not raised as children and learned the respect and love for others.
The mass shootings of schools, churches, nightclubs and movie theatres are not a gun problem however a mental illness problem and trying to banish all rights from all the people for just a handful of people with mental illness.
Attacking gun rights will not stop the school, church, nightclub and theatre shootings.
The politicians/ democrats need to be attacking the mental illness issue disallowing these people from obtaining firearms instead of taking the right from everyone to protect themselves. I personally have had a sport rifle in my safe for over twenty years and it has never thought about hurting anyone.

  7. Good for Springfield.

Now they and other manufacturers need to follow Hornadys lead and refuse to service the communist states like NY and CA law enforcement.

No guns to enforce unconstitutional laws!

  8. I entered a Gander Outdoors (formerly Gander Mountain) in Greensboro NC with a locked Pelican case to purchase a range holster for a pricey target weapon. The case was tagged by cashier with a red Tyrap and upon reaching rear of store counter, kid comes up and says “give me your gun, I must take it in the back and make sure it’s unloaded”. A command. No please, explanation. Surrender my weapon to a complete stranger, no way as only I am responsible and accountable for my weapons.
Informed youngster that first off, case locked with padlock and it is a weapon, not a gun. Obvious kid had no military or police training. Informed him I do not give my weapon unsupervised by me to any stranger and walked out still with case locked. Manager intercepted me on way out and said I could accompany him in the back to show weapon empty, ‘no thanks, I will take my business elsewhere.’
Asked if I was LEO in uniform what he would do. Response was the same, all guns supervised by Store personnel. Good luck sonny, NO LEO surrenders a weapon.
Gander Outdoors Greensboro Nc needs to rethink what administrators are telling these youngsters or Gander will again go out of business. These so called stores are bowing to liberal pressure from lefties who still live in parent’s basement, who never served our country and are clueless as to how freedom was fought for and earned.

  9. Hornady and Springfield Armory are my HERO’s. At least they have the “guts” to make a decision and do something about it.
Hornady is my go to for ALL of my reloading needs from now on
and my next purchase for protection will be a Springfield!

  10. Hahaha how ironic. Springfield Armory stops sending firearms to dicks. Cool. But yet Springfield armory was doing backdoor meetings with state politicians to push anti gun narratives to cause fear and boost their sales.

The hell with both dicks AND springfield.

  11. Springfield will have to do more than this to earn my respect again after what they pulled in Illinois with Rock River Arms & Daniel Defense.

    1. Thank you! I was beginning to think that I was the only one who remembered that Springfield Armory screwed the people of Illinois by backing State level anti-gun legislation along with Rock River Arms. Thanks also for reminding everyone about Daniel Defense and their backing of the “Fix Nics” anti-gun fiasco. It doesn’t matter how much these companies back peddle, they have shown their true colors.

  12. Hornady is falling right into the hands of governors of NY and CA. It’s exactly what they want. It’s the wrong move. There are lots of gun enthusiasts in NY for sure. They should lower the price and flood those states. Just hurts the shooters. Bad move!!!

  13. I need a new Springfield rifle , and I just ordered 500 rounds of 308 with Hornady bullets .

  14. thank you springfield you have my continued business.
I would ask all companies to do the same…..Lets show them that
No—-“you cant do whatever you want without consequences. ”
I posted a request for people to boycott dicks on face book. If only one person complies it will be worth it.

  15. I purchased a long gun from Dick’s sporting goods in Lafayette Indiana over 10 years ago, I was given a gift certificate for Christmas and could not find anything that I wanted to take home. I decided that I would get a long gun stainless Marlin .22 magnum tube fed.
I started to fill out the federal form 4473. I was half way through and a member of management looked at my form and tore it up in front of me stating that I was not allowed to abbreviate anything that I needed to start over. It was like St. for street and In. for Indiana. it was ridiculous. it took over 1 hour and a half until the manager walked me out of the store with the firearm. I had not returned to the store for anything and had told my family not to use Dick’s for a gift certificate again. I am also an avid fisherman and I choose not to go into Dick’s for anything.
These businesses go out of business one customer at a time. Dick’s are chasing away their true sportsman away.

  16. It pays to keep a running list of companies and businesses that are Anti-Gun (anti-2A)..There are so many I won’t do any business with, that it becomes hard to remember..Dicks, Delta, AARP, Sonic, Hallmark, and so many others..All gun owners and supporters of the Constitution must stick together or we loose it all..
