Obama’s Executive Actions on Guns Will Help . . . Obama
What kind of well-thought-out criteria will the government use to determine that somebody is a firearms dealer under federal law?
“That’s it, really?” the NRA’s Jennifer Baker told The New York Times on Monday night. “They’re not really doing anything.”
Obama has openly supported Australian-style gun confiscation so his insistence that he doesn’t want to take people’s guns is quite odd

I do admire the pure cynicism of Obama here. He knows this is a completely empty gesture and yet he produced real tears. A+ work.

Obama says we shouldn’t impugn each other’s motives, then continues to imply you want dead children if you oppose his gun control agenda

Proposed Executive Actions on Gun Control
Once again, President Obama has chosen to engage in political rhetoric, instead of offering meaningful solutions to our nation’s pressing problems. Today’s event also represents an ongoing attempt to distract attention away from his lack of a coherent strategy to keep the American people safe from terrorist attack. — Executive Director of the National Rifle Association’s Institute for Legislative Action, Chris W. Cox, regarding President Barack Obama’s Executive Gun Control Order.
Gee, how did this issue gets so partisan, asks the guy who says gun owners are awful people who want to see more crime.

Obama’s Gun Speech Sprinkled With Inaccuracies, Distortions
Unfortunately, the president left out most hard details on what he actually plans to have his officials do.
Eroding civil liberties, especially in America, takes time, President Obama warns.

The CRYING GAME: Obama Lies, Cries His Way Through Anti-Gun Speech
We’ve seen some truly horrific acts of dishonesty over the years from President Barack Obama, and his overly-emotional, theatrics filled speech promoting his Administration’s anti-gun executive orders (dissected earlier) was perhaps his deplorable performance yet.
“Fort Hood Binghamton Aurora Oak Creek Newtown The Navy Yard Santa Barbara Charleston San Bernardino Too many.” —@POTUS #StopGunViolence
— The White House (@WhiteHouse) January 5, 2016
So, once again, the president is selling his policies by pointing to incidents and people that don’t even intersect with them. Bizarre.

When Obama says “mass violence” he’s being extremely disingenuous. Homicides down more than 50% since 1992

After years of unsuccessful attempts to pass gun control laws, President Obama has chosen to do an end run around Congress with executive actions.
“This is not that complicated. The reason Congress blocks laws is they want to win elections” @POTUS says on gun rights fight
— Juliet Eilperin (@eilperin) January 5, 2016
This is as close to an admission of the widespread unpopularity of gun control as Obama will ever get. https://t.co/xUWTc8YXCk

Obama’s Gun-Control Plan Includes Gun-Ban For Some Social Security Beneficiaries
One aspect of the new controls is the inclusion of “information from the Social Security Administration in the background check system about beneficiaries who are prohibited from possessing a firearm.”
The problem with guns laws that go unaddressed are the laws at the state level where some state have practiced confiscation of sorts such as what has happened in NJ. They might not be talking of taking guns away at the Federal level but they certainly are at the state level. If it wasn’t for Governor Christie NJ gun owners would be screwed. I’m afraid to see what will happen if we elect a democrat .
Michael Twidle: Unfortunately, this is one of those pesky issues that we would have to deal with if we actually still lived in the republic our founders gave us. Yes. The constitution is the supreme law of the land, but it is only supreme in what the Federal Governement can do to we the people. It does not prevent the states from having draconian gun laws or any other laws for that matter. The Constitution was only designed to protect us from the Feds and disparaging the states from becoming tyrannical was to be incumbent upon us the citizens. In the decades and centuries that have pased the wording of the constitution has been stretched and the very definitions of words has changed (see: regulation) to meet whatever standards the current elected officials wanted. Some believe the 14th Amendment is what killed this idea where state law trumped Federal law in every respect except for the powers specifically enumerated and delegated to the Federal Government as their responsibility. In the end the truth is still quite different from either of these interpretations. The right to self defense is an inalienable right. Inalienable! Neither state nor federal government has the authority to dictate how I defend or protect my family as they are not the granter of my right to life or liberty!
Very well STATED!You my friend KNOW and understand the 4400 word document that is the Constitution, and the 718 WORDS of the first ten amendment. The 14th amendment was illegally passed if you read the history. It was the cause of the draconian “reconstruction era and laws.” This in turn was the down fall of the States Rights by the “new” republican party. 14th was NOT ratified by the States, thus causing the Southern States to come under “military rule” where Southerners were no longer able to hold ELECTED OFFICES, thus putting carpetbaggers and black in State offices, forcing the said States to rewrite State Constitutions, AND ratify the 14th amendment to be “readmitted” to the union.
My true feeling is that this is a test. A test to see if he gets away with another violation of the law and the Constitution. If he does get away with this, he has more of the same planned. He stammered a lot when ask about it in the town meeting. He is trying to see how far he can get……he’s far from done!
obama is muslim soctalist communist marxist who wants 230 more agents to be his gestapo
He’s a cultural fascist. He does not mention that the US government under his administration ( and others such as Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar ) armed Sunni mercenaries that have killed 250,000 Syrians. That’s way more than 30,000 Americans.
Let’s face it. Our president just don’t like guns.
Pontus compares laws for driving vehicles on public streets, much like gun laws!!! Here the problem with his thinking. Driving is privilege that is not protected by the amendment. The Second amendment to the United States Constitution gives us we the people the right to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. Also reads, A well regulated Militia being nescessary to the security of a free State.
I think you maybe slightly off in your statement.
The Second Amendment, like others in the Bill of Rights, do not grant us the listed Rights. It recognizes the Rights that are ours, are “Unalienable ” and cannot be “Infringed” by the various Government departments, persons, etc. Oxford’s William Blackstone’s definition, of “unalienable” was used by Thomas Jefferson, who understood “unalienable rights” as fixed rights given to us by our Creator rather than by government. He emphasized on our Creator thereby showing the rights are permanent just as the Creator is permanent.
As liberty is slowly seeping away from us if we let Obama and his team continue, now is the time to dig in our heels and show the liberals how we can get what we want and that it is the same as what America needs so very much,
Obama’s new Executive Order would have done nothing to prevent any of the violent events he spoke about. Looks like a last chance ditch effort to calm the anti gunners that he has finally “Done Something” on gun violence. I bet Hillary did not like this, as it just drove a lot of independents to the Republicans.
Obama should stop wasting his time (paid by tax payers) and taxpayers money on issues he has admitted would have had no effect on the problems he claims to be addressing. Thus avoiding having to provide solutions to the real threats facing the citizens of this country.
Our country’s and even state’s executives, and all those who represent us(?), conveniently forget why the 2nd Amendment was written. It was written after the militia, with their assault weapons, defeated the best equipped, best trained army in the world. Our forefathers new what a central (federal) government would become as it grew…An octopus with tentacles delving into every aspect of the citizens private lives. Not about hunting; and protection of self, family and home are a given. We remain armed to protect against a tyrannical central(federal) government.
They also conveniently forget that this country is a Consitutional Republic! That means a person can come, go, by or sell as they darn well please!
And POTUS ravings about gun control and registration and all the brew- hah hah about global warming are just smoke screens to guide away from the failures of this regime.
This A. Hole, does not care about our 2nd amendment rights to own firearms, and to defend ourselves. The only reason he appeared to shed tears was his realization that in a 1 year he will have to pay for his own damn vacations, and hopefully, ended his free ride on the tax payer dollar.
Thank God, he will be gone in another year.
here’s a good perspective on history of 2nd amendment.
